01 / PROJECT BACKGROUND

A low-ceiling basement garage that must pass fire inspection

A developer in the Middle East needed an underground parking garage that extracts vehicle fumes every day and clears smoke zone-by-zone in a fire, inside a low ceiling with shared shafts and structural beams. The package had to pass fire inspection before handover and run quietly beneath occupied floors.

02 / REQUIREMENTS

Zone-by-zone smoke exhaust with signal-controlled dampers

The requirement covered smoke exhaust and mixed-flow fans for main extraction and make-up air, smoke exhaust fire dampers at every zone and shaft boundary, galvanized ducts for exhaust and supply paths, and silencers where shafts pass beneath residential floors. Damper actuators had to match the fire alarm interface, and airflow and pressure had to be confirmed per zone, not per building.

03 / SOLUTION

Fans, dampers, ducts and silencers matched per zone

JINLONGSEN sized jet fans and smoke exhaust fans per zone against real duct resistance, scheduled smoke exhaust fire dampers with actuator type and control signal matched to the alarm interface, and routed galvanized ductwork around beam crossings within the available ceiling height. Silencers were placed on shafts beneath occupied floors to hold boundary noise within limits.

04 / RESULT

Inspection passed with daily ventilation and fire mode both covered

The garage package passed fire inspection with zone-by-zone exhaust demonstrated, dampers opening and closing on signal, and daily fume extraction running at acceptable noise levels. Supplying fans, dampers, ducts and silencers as one coordinated package kept the specification consistent and the delivery aligned to the construction schedule.
